Punjabi Cultural GroupA fortnightly group is run by Oorja Foundation to provide a platform where community can come and unwind their day while connecting and integrate with local community.
These groups meet fortnightly currently at the Global Learning Centre, Craigieburn and Galada Community Centre, Epping. Through these groups in past years this group We reached up to 500 clients and 2000 contacts. Generally, we have up to 45-60 people from the community attending the sessions which are facilitated by the community facilitators and guest speakers.
During the sessions, groups talk about culture, gender equality, diversity, environment and social harmony, and many other topics. We celebrate different festivals and special occasions such Diwali, Vaisakhi, Holi, Independence day, Chrismas, etc. This group allows people from all ages and sexual orientation to be equally treated during the sessions providing safe space for constructive growth.
